Alexander Schmidt
Dr. Alexander Schmidt is Head of Science, Sustainability, and Climate Research at Normative, the enterprise carbon platform to see emissions, plan reductions, and achieve net zero. Before joining Normative, Alexander worked as a consultant and entrepreneur in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. He holds a PhD in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, obtained after completing his studies in International Business and East Asian studies in Germany, China, and Japan.
In addition to his work at Normative, Alexander gives university lectures in econometrics and sustainability and co-hosts the Net-Zero Policy Network with Oxford Net Zero. He acts as the Private Sector Program Lead for the Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance and regularly speaks at international conferences organized by the UN – including COP – and at institutions such as Oxford University and Deloitte.
